How to make finger puppets: Bunny
April 21, 2012 by Olha
This is a photo tutorial for making Bunny, the finger puppet. The pattern for this and other puppets is here.
Making the body
The ear is worked as an i-cord on 4 stitches.
Cut yarn, leaving 90 cm (1 yrd) tail. It will be used for grafting the top and knitting the second ear. Fasten off the remaining st.
Thread the yarn through the ear going inside the i-cord.
Using Kitchener st graft the top using 2 stitches on each needle, 4 stitches remain.
Transfer 4 stitches onto one needle and work second ear same as first.
Thread the cast-on tail on a tapestry needle and weave it through the cast-on edge towards the centre of the bunny’s back.
With bunny’s back facing, pick up one st through the st above the cast-on edge.
Tail is worked as a bobble over 3 stitches.
Fasten off remaining st, attach the top of the tail to the Bunny’s back with a tapestry needle.
Bunny’s eyes and nose are made with 3 single duplicate stitches.
And that’s the Bunny!
