It’s three days before Saturday. Optimistic creators of the Knitting Lobster logo, aka HRM WWKIP group, organizers of the event, say ‘It won’t rain, Mother Nature wouldn’t dare’. I am nervously checking all weather forecasts and they change daily. One site reporting 30% chance of rain yesterday, now says ‘Sunny’, and the other promised 0% chance of rain yesterday, and today it suggests 20% chance of thunderstorms. I am trying to convince myself that both are great news. So, having no other choice but being prepared, I am knitting samples, printing patterns, and purple raffle tickets for those who would like to donate items for the IWK. Click here and scroll down for simple raffle rules.
It’s really hard to guess if a ‘goodie bag’ raffle prize would be considered, well, good. Knitters have different tastes and expectations. So, I guess I will just tell you what’s in it.
There are four prizes, four jute project bags with different handmade designs (the sock bag is still in progress… or maybe it got the Second Sock Syndrome?)
and four skeins of this yummy yarn came from The Loop. To avoid any potential fist fights in case you have a winning number and spot the yarn you really love in someone else’s bag, one gift wrapped skein or hank of yarn will be hiding in each bag. Except for twin baby alpaca hanks that will stick together cause they are ‘an item’.
Also, there are $5 gift certificates from The Loop.
Then there is a handknit pin cushion for each winner,
and coffee (or tea) and chocolate treats from Just Us! (Yep, I took this picture right in the coffee shop).
We also have some free purple yarn provided by the IWK Auxiliary if you wish to make more purple hats, and free patterns.
All gifts were generously donated, thanks to all our lovely sponsors.
So… are you coming now?
