My name is Olha and I write to inform fellow crafters about knitted items needed by the local non-profit organizations in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I do some charity knitting, too, but mostly I am trying to spread the word and connect charities with knitters and, in some cases, knitters with yarn. This blog is for people who use knitting to be active in their communities and connect with others. Even though the name says “knitters”, it’s not an organized group but rather a network of resourceful people.
Click around to see what project could interest you. Also, if you click on the item under What We Knit, you can see all blog posts related to it, from the newest to the oldest. The gallery has lots of photos.
From time to time, I put on a designer’s hat and publish free patterns to promote a certain cause. It’s an easy way to provide knitters with additional information about the project, and it brings traffic to the website.
There are six independently owned yarn stores near Halifax:
and they are friendly and supportive in many ways.
